GPM PRO Course Delivery Process
Meet diverse training needs with a multi-tiered approach.
Once we assess where you are now and
where you need to go, we can tailor individualized ways
to get you there using our four-tiered model of courseware, hands-on training,
and on-the-job training (OJT).
With the customized GPM PRO course delivery process, technicians
can enter at the appropriate level and receive the right curriculum for their needs.
A new hire or entry-level technician may enter at Level 1,
while an experienced electrical technician who requires multi-skill training in
mechanical maintenance might enter at Level 2. The result
is a consistently trained workforce, proficient on your specific systems.
Level 1—Core Competencies
Level 1 provides the very basic essentials of standardized maintenance training, either
through core skills classroom instruction or online using
GPiLEARN.
Here the participants focus on equipment safety, basic math, print reading, hand
tools, rigging, scaffolding, and basic technical knowledge to ensure they are well
prepared for craft fundamentals training. This level can be tailored to include
placement exams for those resources that can satisfactorily demonstrate they possess
this level of knowledge.
Level 2—Fundamentals
Level 2 introduces much of the theory associated
with maintenance practices, such as Kirchoff’s Law and Pascal’s
Law. This level is concentrated on theory and provides a much needed
knowledge foundation. The curriculum includes skills and knowledge in mechanical
systems, basic hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, PLC introduction,
basic electricity, motors, drives, etc. This training is best delivered via classroom
instruction and reinforced with hands-on lab exercises.
Level 3—Advanced Fundamentals
Level 3 applies the theory and knowledge
elements to practical applications and focuses on skills. This level ensures that
your maintenance technicians are trained to perform all the required tasks and enables
opportunities to practice and apply these critical skills. The courses can range
from advanced hydraulics to PLC programming, welding certification to HVAC
certification, troubleshooting, and advanced maintenance techniques. GP’s
solution spans a wide range of delivery strategies including instructor-led and
structured on-the-job training (OJT). For maximum effectiveness this training is heavily
supplemented with hands-on training in tandem with the structured OJT.
Level 4—Equipment Specific Training
Level 4 ensures your maintenance
team is fully capable and well trained on the use and maintenance practices of your
specific pieces of equipment. GP tailors the courseware to include your equipment
specifics not only by working with your documentation, but also through on-site
data gathering and development. This training can include standard operations, preventive
maintenance and equipment servicing, emergency operations/shut downs, and troubleshooting.
Similar to Level 3, this level is heavily based on hands-on application labs, but
also includes servicing and repair of production equipment out on the shop floor.
